He was reading at just 10 months old, speaking Japanese by 3, and studying through an Oxford program by 6.

Joshua Beckford, a British-Nigerian autistic prodigy, showed extraordinary abilities from infancy. By age 4, he was already practicing simulated surgeries on a computer.

In 2011, Oxford University allowed Joshua to join a program for gifted children, even though he was younger than the usual age requirement. He studied philosophy and history, earning distinctions and a Certificate of Excellence.

But Joshua’s story is about more than academic brilliance. He has used his platform to raise awareness about autism in underrepresented communities and support educational projects for young people across Africa and the UK.

His dream is to become a neurosurgeon and inspire other children to believe that being different should never limit what they can achieve.
