My prayers are with the family of Charlie Kirk who was assassinated yesterday. Nothing should be more sacrosanct in our democracy than the free exchange of views and respect for political differences.
We mourn his loss and must take this moment to remind ourselves that political violence is a stain on our democracy.
May Charlie Kirk rest in peace.
September 11th is a day of reflection as we remember and mourn the fallen, give love and support to their families, and honor the bravery of the many heroes that emerged from that tragedy. May the spirit of resilience and the unity we found on that day serve as an example of the ideals that unite us as Americans.
September 2, 1945 is recognized as the official end of WWII, marked by the signing of the Instrument of Surrender. The ceremony took place aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay and was signed by representatives of Japan and the Allies.
