How to answer a sick student email post-2020:
I am sorry that you are not feeling well. Thank you for not coming to class and spreading infection!
I hope that you feel well soon, rest and take care of yourself. You should be able to find all of your materials on our Canvas site.
The message we communicate to students when we don't accommodate mental health issues is that the "real world" won't accept their mental illness. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. But if it is true, that's not the real world I want to usher any student into. 5/5
