This is the second part of the story I shared earlier about the Osun State logo.
@Osun_State_Gov publicly announced the logo redesign contest in April 2024 and stated that the best designers would be invited and compensated. My design was eventually selected, approved and unveiled.
But after the unveiling, getting that money became another story entirely.
I sent several emails to get that done.
Eventually, @Studio_Hamkaz sent the money to me after I was told that ₦500,000 was what the state had budgeted as compensation. Which I honestly struggled to believe because the compensation was never mentioned publicly after the unveiling.
I also received several calls to come for TV interviews about the logo. One was from @Kayodealaka22 of @WStv_NG, which I declined. Not because I didn't have anything to say. I just didn't want to drag anybody or talk about what happened publicly; I wanted to preserve Osun State's reputation and move on.
At the time @adedayo_oderinu , who was part of the publicly announced judging panel for the competition, called me about the matter. Part of that conversation was about trying to get us to meet with the Governor.
The explanation was that @iwogoke; the spokesperson to the Governor, said @AAdeleke_01 had been busy and the suggestion was that we should try our luck at meeting him unannounced at home or his office. 😂
If a government organises a public competition, selects a winner, unveils the work and there is a payment issue afterwards, shouldn't there be a proper process for resolving that? Why should we have to be the ones looking for the Governor's whereabouts?
And then there was another thing I heard; perhaps the committee handling the project might have presented someone else as the owner of my work and settled lowkey.
I'm deliberately saying “might have” because I'm not going to present something I heard as a fact.
But if that did happen, that's a much bigger conversation oo 😂.
And if it didn't, then I'd genuinely like the government to clarify what actually happened. This is why I'm tagging @Osun_State_Gov, @AAdeleke_01, @iwogoke, and @AlimiKolapo
I kept quiet for two years because I didn't want government wahala. But sometimes, silence doesn't solve the problem. It only gives the problem more time.
So, I have a few straightforward questions:
1. What was the official compensation package arranged for the winners?
2. What was the expected payment process, and why wasn't the compensation communicated publicly same way the competition was announced?
3. Why did payment require repeated follow-ups after the winning work had already been unveiled? Was the state / committee in charge not planning to pay before the follow-ups or perhaps the money had been embezzled?
4. Regarding the second runner-up, why was ₦100,000 paid after he made a public post about the issue few months ago? Was that payment already due, or was it triggered by the public complaint?
These are questions that need to be answered.

A TIME TO HEAL, UNITE AND BUILD
My Remarks at the Presentation of Certificate of Return
Protocol.
My dear people of Osun State,
Today is not merely about the presentation of a Certificate of Return. It is a moment of gratitude, reflection and appreciation to the people of Osun State who stood firm for democracy.
This certificate does not belong to Ademola Adeleke alone. It belongs to the people of Osun State: our workers, market men and women, youths, traditional and religious leaders, and every citizen who participated in this democratic process. I am deeply humbled by the confidence you have renewed in me.
But even in victory, we must be sober in reflection. Citizens were injured, properties and livelihoods were destroyed and, most painfully, precious lives were lost.
It is deeply painful that any family should have to bury a loved one because of politics. No election, political office or ambition is worth the life of a single citizen.
We remember Ezekiel Olapade, Aderogba Ajayi, Remi Abass, Kolade Eluyera, and every other victim of electoral violence. Regardless of political affiliation, they were first our brothers, sisters and fellow citizens. To their families, your pain is our pain, and your loved ones will never be reduced to mere statistics.
The Adeleke family, through the Springtime Development Foundation, will provide full scholarships up to university level for the children and dependants of those who lost their lives.
The Osun State Government will also establish a ₦500 million Election Violence Victims Endowment Fund to support verified victims and affected families. A Verification and Relief Committee, chaired by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, will oversee the transparent identification of victims and equitable distribution of support.
This is not a political intervention. It is a humanitarian responsibility. No eligible victim will be excluded because of political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, gender or social status. In grief, there is no political party. In our common humanity, we are one people.
My dear people of Osun State, I receive this Certificate of Return not as a trophy or a weapon against anyone, but as a renewed contract with you.
The election is over. The campaign is over. The contest is over. Now is the time to govern, unite, heal and build.
To those who voted for me, I thank you. To those who voted for another candidate, I thank you for participating in our democracy. I remain Governor to all, and together we must place Osun State above politics.
We shall continue to advance infrastructure, healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, youth empowerment and economic development, with accountability, inclusion and transparency.
You have given me another opportunity to serve, and I accept this responsibility with humility. I will work harder. I will listen more. I will do more.
Today, we are grateful for victory, but sober in remembrance. Tomorrow, we return to work.
May God comfort every family that has suffered loss, heal the injured, bless our people and continue to bless the State of the Living Spring.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke
Governor, Osun State
Following the official announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission on #OsunDecides2026, this is the current situation at Oke-fia Area of Òṣogbo.

Dear @officialABAT,
It is imperative that you use your good office to issue a clear warning to the heads of security agencies deployed to protect the good people of Osun State and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
Reports of attempts to hijack or disrupt collation centres by desperate and rejected politicians across the state are deeply concerning and unacceptable, particularly given the large number of security personnel deployed to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
I therefore implore you to reiterate the commitment made to the people of Osun State that their votes will count and that the outcome of this election will reflect their genuine choice. The Nigeria @PoliceNG, @OfficialDSSNG@HQNigerianArmy@official_NSCDC and other security agencies must strictly adhere to this directive, while @inecnigeria must be given every necessary support to conclude the process and deliver a credible and transparent outcome.
The people of Osun State have spoken with one voice, and their voices must be heard. Their votes must be protected, and their mandate must be respected.

SECURITY AGENCIES MUST STOP SENATOR FADAHUNSI’S INTIMIDATION OF VOTERS
Nigerians and the rest of the world are alarmed at yet another sacrilege committed against democracy by Senator Francis Fadahunsi of Osun East Senatorial District on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Fadahunsi was heard and seen instructing All Progressives Congress supporters at his polling unit 1, NUD Primary School, Collation Centre in Ilase-Ijesa to monitor the choices made by voters during the ongoing governorship election.
He went further to tell his followers to take action against those not following the APC.
This is scandalous, unacceptable and undemocratic.
The security agencies must immediately stop the voter intimidation by Fadahunsi and his foot soldiers.
One would have thought that he had learnt his lessons with his last despicable out but alas! A leopard never changes its spot!

APC is not ready to play fair and we will resist their shenanigans.
Last night, Senator Fadahunsi’s police orderly wemimo illegally led a military unit to Ife to illegally detain me. I have since been released when the military saw that it was a clear attempt by APC to subvert the wish of the people. I am now back here at my polling unit delivering for Governor Adeleke .
@PoliceNG, there is an allegation that some of your men in this video just invaded a RAC centre in Ife East Local Government Ward 10 (Modakeke ward 3) and fired tear gas to disrupt distribution of election materials at a RAC centre. The materials have been allegedly carted away.
Please investigate and act now to protect a credible electoral process in Osun state.

WHY GOVERNOR ADELEKE DESERVES A SECOND TERM
- DELE MOMODU
Let me start by saying I'm a proud member of ADC. I joined ADC on the basis that prominent members of opposition parties in Nigeria decided to form a broad coalition of forces against the APC cankerworm that has almost destroyed our economy, social cohesion, religious tolerance and democratic institutions and separation of powers. I had prayed fervently against the demon, and clash, of voluptuous egos. I wished we won't have to reinvent the wheels since the ADC initially paraded the second, third and fourth leading candidates in the 2023 Presidential election. Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be so. But I still did not give up on the hope that Nigerians, not just the parties, would rise up massively against the APC menace.
The time has now come for us to confront REALITY and demonstrate that we indeed possess commonsense by being demonstrably practical.
It would be foolhardy not to see that with the manner APC has turned OSUN State into a theater of war, the only sensible STRATEGY is for all opposition parties to align immediately and back the ACCORD party candidate GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE. I make this declaration without equivocation, or any fear of contradiction. This is not based on friendship or family ties.
Governor Adeleke has been a global phenomenon who would easily defeat President Tinubu himself in a popularity contest. Adeleke is primus inter pares amongst Nigerian Governors, in order of extraordinary performance in infrastructure, health, education, staff welfare, labour unions, IGR, agriculture, commerce, culture, women empowerment, youth integration, etc.
We should never supply the APC an easy alibi to rig the OSUN gubernatorial election on August 15, 2026...
GOD bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬

OSUN REMEMBERS!
Osun remembers the dark days of the APC.
We remember when workers went months without receiving their full salaries.
We remember unpaid salaries and pension arrears.
We remember modulated salaries and the hardship they brought into our homes.
We remember pensioners waiting for what they had worked for.
We remember families struggling to put food on the table.
We remember the painful stories of workers having to eat eba with only water, no soup, no fish, no meat, not because they wanted to, but because survival had become the priority.
We remember the days when students were left without bursary support, placing an even heavier burden on families already struggling with economic hardship.
We remember the children whose education suffered.
We remember the businesses that struggled.
We remember the traders, artisans and families whose purchasing power disappeared.
We remember the communities that endured insecurity and the consequences that followed.
Osun remembers all of it.
And when they return with propaganda, we will not allow them to rewrite history.
Politics is not just about what politicians say today. It is also about what the people experienced yesterday.
We remember the hardship.
We remember the suffering.
We remember the sacrifices.
And we remember how Osun survived.
APC, never again in Osun!
Osun remembers. Osun will not forget.
#OsunRemember
By this time on Sunday, we will return to give God all the praise again. 🙏
Congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Our administration’s commitment to the welfare of our dedicated and hardworking workers is not just a promise; we have backed it with visible action. We have restored dignity to the labour force in Osun.
We do not consider the payment of salaries a political achievement, but a responsibility and the rightful reward for the labour of our active and retired workers. We have cleared inherited backlogs of salaries, pensioners’ gratuities and promotion arrears, while ensuring regular training and capacity development for our workforce.
Instead of offering empty promises like those in the past, we have delivered tangible results that workers can see, feel and experience. We have demonstrated that workers’ welfare is not an afterthought under our administration, but a central pillar of our governance.
We promised to restore dignity to labour, and we have kept that promise.
- Governor Ademola Adeleke
