Billboard praises Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance:
“It was a clever and authentic (albeit, time-consuming) way into his past, a reclaiming that celebrates the little kid he was while still aligning with the man he is today. Plus, it was perhaps the most efficient way to power through 12 songs that, truthfully, may have otherwise felt out of place in the set – even to those who don’t want to admit it.
But most of all, it was an oddly humanizing moment for someone of Bieber’s stature (especially when he pulled up clips of his younger self walking into a glass door or falling through a hole on stage). Underneath it all, there was an unspoken understanding of, “we’re good here” — like a long-awaited release.
For fans, Bieberchella may have been a celebration of his career thus far. But for Bieber, it seemed to be more about celebrating his hard-earned and much-deserved peace — the reward at the end of a long road that has required Bieber to believe in himself every step of the way. Even, or perhaps especially, when others were quick to count him out.
And now, he’s made it perfectly clear that there’s nothing more important than protecting that peace — for himself, for his family and for his creativity. And that’s exactly the kind of business worth standing on.”
No one cares about a big stage full of backup dancers, fancy clothing and genuinely annoying faces. Justin Bieber gave everything I wanted from his performance. He sang his new stuff and still gave us the old bangers with a personal touch. Only haters disliked it, bum.
justin bieber reminding people that a music festival can actually be about the music. no pyrotechnics or million dancers just vocals engaging with the audience and looking back on his popstar life that he gave up his childhood for just to entertain us
nah this set was for actual fans.
people that bought tickets and were disappointed, i’m sorry but this was NOTTTT for you. it was for us fans watching“on the couch” (because he knew) and those people proudly singing along in the crowd. if you were bored, you don’t know justin😊
People saying Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance was lazy and boring is crazy to me. It’s all about the connection to the fans and the journey. Not everything has to be a giant spectacle with 1000 dancers. I personally love when an artist just goes out and sings. The real fans loved every second of it. It was raw and different, which is perfect to me.
I don’t get how anyone can hate on Justin Biebers Coachella performance. That was absolute perfection. No autotune, no screaming or mumbling, just pure vocals. Played his new & old songs. Interacted with the fans in attendance and online. 10/10 Thank You Justin ♥️
i’m sorry but ppl got used to PRODUCTION over presence
this is what music festivals used to be about so don’t act like coachella wasn’t built on artists standing there and… omg… SINGING
