@KrishnanMV10@bykarthikreddy I'd say that the beauty of a TRULY cosmopolitan city lies in recognizing that it is ROOTED.
Bengaluru's roots are in the Kannada language (& have been for over 1000 years). To overlook that is to do injustice to linguistic, cultural, & geographical history.
@parvtyagi_ Very nicely written: simple but memorable. I really enjoyed reading it.
P.S: I only came across this now, when someone shared it on a Malleshwara(m)-related WhatsApp group.
@AmitMajmudar @nguyenhdi I liked how you "snuck" this part in, Amit. 😀👍🏾
"If faith and art would merge with what they love, my hand is happiest when it’s his glove."
@ThePrintIndia@AKanisetti "As noted above, Tamil literature and writing appeared around 300 BCE."
Equally untrue. Sangam literature was ORAL for centuries, up until the middle of the 1st millennium.
Come on, man, read some of the research done in Indian languages by non-chauvinistic Tamils!
@ThePrintIndia@AKanisetti "...it had developed into Old Tamil, the first Dravidian language to have a written culture..."
Not true. What is called Tamil-Brahmi is really Kannada-Brahmi, since writing began first in the present-day Karnataka region.
Prof. Settar has written about this extensively.
@banglani Nonsense. It's a clarion call not a dog whistle.
Bangalore IS full of "northies" on account of unchecked migration and it could do with fewer of them – especially those who'd rather live in their upper-(middle)-class linguistic silos than ever TRY to assimilate & learn Kannada.
@IamHCB I'm not sure, but it looked like it may be a 2024 release that's doing the circuit rounds atm. I somehow forgot to to save that FB reel (or photo), so, yeah, I don't have much detail to offer, but I'd be very grateful if you could help me find it.
@deepakshenoy Nah, most children won't remember SMK as someone who caused them to "lose" a day of school. If they remember him at all, it'll be as someone important enough for them to get a HOLIDAY from school.
You're speaking wholly from the perspective of an adult.
@goatkovic2021 Lol. I'm not surprised by the vote.
I've noticed that most Djoko fans can't sustain an argument. It's why their favourites words/phrases are "Fedal", "Fedtard", "establishment", "arrogant", "40-15", "cry", "cope", "24 > 20" etc.
@goatkovic2021 *12/40 if you count Wim16-AO17...since Djokovic turned 30 a week before RG17 began.
*12/20 if you count RG18 as the first slam Djokovic played as a 31 y.o.
@goatkovic2021 I mean, 33-35 y.o Rafa was 5-1 vs Top 10 Meddy on HCs! A ridiculous stat, given Med a "HC specialist".
Djoko's slam split is equally ridiculous. As a Top 10 player in his 20s, he won 12/37 slams. Then, as a 31+ y.o, he won 12/19 slams.
Things just don't add up...
@goatkovic2021 ...until you realise the 90s-born generation of players were a REGRESSIVE ANOMALY, esp. in Bof5 tennis. (Thiem off grass was an exception.)
This realised, RN's & ND's higher slam win% & elite opportunism in their 30s (way past their prime!) suddenly becomes fully clear!
