While I want to agree with this, the first and third films did actually have some sort of primary plot (Ghostface murder mystery for 1, the videotape curse for 3) despite there being tons and tons of references as well. Now with 2, 4, AND 5, I can definitely see your point there.

i’m already seeing people complain about #ScaryMovie6 not having a plot and in a letterboxd world where everybody and their mama is a film critic, i beg you to watch at least the first two films. none of them had a plot. it’s literally just parodies thrown together. LAUGH. 😭

The Handmaid’s Tales first four seasons are truly terrific, Season 5 is better than I remember, but Season 6 was the point of no return. Rushed plotting, too slow of pacing when it comes to action, and one of the worst character assassinations I’ve ever seen in media.

That theatre experience is still so fresh in my mind, from the tension with the premonition sequence, to the laugh out loud moments of comedy, to the terrific death scenes, to me crying at Tony Todd’s final words. What a phenomenal installment of the franchise.
