Very soon, our substantially sized Brandon Elms will be ready for delivery to their new homes.
The Brandon Elm is a selection of the native American Elm that grows on the eastern prairies. It was chosen for its consistent upright vase form, dense ascending branch structure and being considerably more compact. The leaves are dark green with a serrated margins and turn a golden yellow in the fall. The tree can be trained to have a raised lower branches which makes it suitable for locations with visibility and clearance concerns. Brandon Elms are hardy, drought and urban tolerant. The tree is highly versatile and widely planted for good reason.
Next week we are presenting at the Cypress County's Roots to Shoots workshop. If you would like to learn more about growing and caring for trees, we will be sharing a lot of information.

We are very happy to be helping the Town of Redcliff's Avenue of Trees looking their finest. Kayden, Evan and Dylan would like to thank everyone for slowing down and keeping us safe. Some of these trees were planted back in 1946, as a memorial to the 217 brave souls that served and died in WWII.
Are you forward to the new season occurring later this month? Many have already started seeds indoors in preparation for outdoor planting in the Spring.
Great snowfall in #MedHat yesterday and overnight in the neighbourhood of 20 cm. Much needed for 2026 moisture. Check out one veggie gardener’s strategies in Colleen’s excellent column today.
