โHeld Apart by the Barsโ
Some loves are not broken by steel.
They are only forced to suffer beside it.
In the harsh light of a precinct booking room, a young woman stands inside a temporary holding cage, her wrists already caught in handcuffs, her future uncertain for the night. And yet the first thing that reaches her is not fear.
It is love.
Her lover has rushed to see her, granted only a brief moment, a few words, a touch through the bars. She cups her face with trembling hands, trying to calm the woman who has been taken away from her, though her own tears fall more urgently. The one outside the cage is, perhaps, even more shattered than the one within it.
We do not know what happened before this moment.
We do not know what tomorrow will bring.
But here, between cold iron, fluorescent light, and the indifference of the station around them, one truth remains painfully clear:
the bars can divide their bodies,
but not their devotion.
With respect, โค๏ธ
