@DsRoland@nickwallis@Fox_Claire well, it seems to... i'm thinking, don't interrupt them whilst they're making the mistake of exposing their ideology to yet more legal+political scrutiny. But i think they realise this 'trojan horse' might backfire
@LucyHunterB like actors in a play, bravely carrying on while the bouncers throw out several unruly audience members who kept shouting 'but you're all just pretending' ... except we didn't all agree to be the audience for their little play, and Scotland isn't their auditorium.
@xela19721@jk_rowling@freespirited_p man seeking to find true self. Rejects limiting tropes of masculinity. Feels he has transcended the body and now identifies with the ego, which he conceptually defines within a different generic trope (feminity).
@DNLMDY I think she understands quite well. Perhaps you are confused by - or enjoy playing with - the sleight-of-hand switcheroo of the referents of the words 'man' and 'woman' from flesh to spirit and back again, as suits
@LucyHunterB Mahler 9 finale, tempo marking 'Sehr langsam und noch zurückhaltend' (very slow and still held back), conducted by Bernstein (who made it last half an hour) and not Bruno Walter (18 mins)
@ArmstrongT97969@HRwritesnews This painting, 'Naughty Nicola' by Laetitia Guilbaud, was hanging up in their house. I imagine he bought Nicola's shoes as a public display of his fervent desire to please his Mistress. (apologies to anyone having dinner)
@jdoyleDoyle1 "when you use the words man and woman, do you refer to the spirit or the flesh / mind or matter / subjective identity or objective reality"
@RichardDawkins that's exactly what they (pretend to) think: Butlerian speech-act theory, performative utterances and all that. (Because a vicar at a wedding saying 'I pronounce you man and wife' has a material effect, then so does a bloke in starbucks saying 'I'm a lady'.... basically...
@ProfJMitchell sorry, are you saying all journalists are independent and it's just coincidence that the ones in the fragrant mainstream missed the massive story that the yobbish outsider broke?
@euanmccolm if it was a male reform MSP - a leader of that party even - and his wife, the treasurer of Reform, stole a whole lot of money... i don't think they'd be saying 'I'm sure he didn't know about it'. Indeed I suspect it would be 'He is mos def the criminal mastermind, poor wifey
@dfkodsi Me too! It's really kind and compassionate how they're sorting out the queers with chemical castration drugs. Just a shame that some bigots insist that humans can't change sex and that women exist and are entitled to boundaries in law.
