ICYMI: Sure, a "3-3-3" improvement on Zeldin's 2022 vote % by region could lift Blakeman in bid against Hochul. But what are the hurdles to making that happen?

FEMA spox responds to Hochul about Trump rebuff of disaster declaration request, says the agency "worked closely with the state of New York to collect and analyze damage information... This decision just like all disaster requests was based on policy not politics."
The backdrop for urging Dems to not let Republicans be seen as loving America, more, is the July 4 weekend. But Suozzi's scattered message is also a vehicle to publicly reiterate a 'Capitalist Not Socialist' pledge he's sought attention for embracing. Kinda an attempted two-fer
With Democratic socialists and other far-left candidates chalking up victories in NYC and elsewhere, Long Island moderate Democrat Rep. Tom Suozzi is doubling-down on his call for the party to embrace capitalism, reject extremism and, now, also, “show our love for America.”
Suozzi, who’s watched fellow veteran democrats lose seats in primaries to younger, more progressive party members, on Thursday used a published op-ed in the WSJ as a latest vehicle to create space in the public eye between himself and the ascendance of the socialist wing.
Malliotakis: "Ensuring these families receive the compensation they are rightfully owed through the U.S. Victims of State-Sponsored Terrorism Fund must be a prerequisite to any agreement with Iran.”
In an interview, Gillen says any proposed unfreezing of Iran assets must come before Congress and the peace deal must also have some benefits for the American people and must compensate these victims..."Iran has to pay these judgments before it gets one penny," she says.
Happy Bobby Bonilla Deferral Day: Bonilla is set to collect another $1.193 million from the New York Mets today, as he will each July 1st through the year 2035.

At least two of the Island's congressional districts, and potentially a third, are viewed by forecasters as possible battlegrounds. https://t.co/R24Ie2sJ2Q
The former Suffolk County executive confirmed that he has discussed with Suozzi an endorsement – but that, “It was Suozzi who brought it up to me!” He said Suozzi told him, without any prompting, “You know, I’m not endorsing anybody because of the Problem Solvers.”
Garbarino's Democratic challenger Patrick Halpin, in an interview, blasts Suozzi – as well as Garbarino and LaLota – for their non-endorsement pact, and “wanting to sing Kumbaya together while the middle-class is getting hit right and left.”
Bipartisanship, or clubby self-preservation? Amid a pitched national battle for majority control of the U.S. House, 3 Long Island representatives won't endorse each other's challengers from their own partiess, saying that's a Problem Solvers Caucus rule https://t.co/rI6PvCjfJX
Halpin went on to ridicule the Problem Solvers as a group with no real legislative or other accomplishments, beyond, he said, being a “fig leaf” for its MAGA members to claim bipartisanship, with the cooperation of Suozzi and other Democrats.
