The area that Israel is now occupying in Lebanon (behind the so called yellow line) represents almost 6% of Lebanon.
- To put it in American terms, this is bigger than California (not that far off the size of Texas).
- In French terms, it represents Normandie.
Lebanon’s Govt scientific research council has collated figures which show the widespread destruction being wrought on the country by Israeli airstrikes… about a thousand homes have been destroyed each day since early March
As Israel, again, kills journalists, here's what @pressfreedom said last year:
"Israel, in particular, has repeatedly killed journalists whom it subsequently - and in some cases preemptively - alleged were militants, without providing credible evidence to support its claims.
"To date, CPJ reporting has found that no one has been held accountable for any targeted killings of a journalist by Israel since October 7, 2023, or in the preceding 22 years."

A reminder to foreign journalists descending on Damascus: prisoners are human beings who deserve dignity and should not be treated recklessly or used as pathways for clicks. Please treat people with the dignity that they’ve been deprived of for decades.
For years I reported about enforced disappearances in #Syria … the missing … the suffering of their families. Today I was in #Sednaya prison watching the families hang on to false hope. I saw the execution room. Unimaginable horrors.
I can’t sleep
