世界の終わりとハードボイルド・ワンダーランドからパン屋再襲撃を挟みダンス・ダンス・ダンスを経てねじまき鳥クロニクル���海辺のカフカに至る道筋を辿る。文字通り寝食を忘れた(ロマンチックさをあきらめると、無視した)読書体験。あれま、わりに歳を食ったようだ。若いけれど、とびきり若くはない。

10代後半から新刊が出るたびに必ず買い求め、旧作もた��んぜんぶ揃えてる作家の最新作をようやく読んだ。特に終盤の展開に(アホらしい物言いだけれど)勇気づけられる。びっくりするくらい本当に。一方で読者(である私)の相当な年波を考えさせられた。作者の技巧やシグネチャーにくすぐられ心地が良い。

first listen！冒頭3曲の素晴らしく素晴らしい後の4曲目のダサさったら。クレジットに連投されるウィンウッドの名に痺れる。キース不調と思いきやキースターンのキース節に唸る。作詞家としてのミックのカッコ良さ。cave(in)という単語を散見。翻訳家とは合わん。mid80’sの雰囲気も。構成がレコ志向。

third listen！LP 1サイドAばかりに気を揉んでいたらLP 2からもう1枚作れんじゃん式の感動がじんわり。そりゃ気鋭の若手投入が奏功してる想像は何となくできるけれども2人のソングライティングにひざまずく。90年代の2枚のアルバムこそがリアルだった40代後半には前作よりも今作に胸がいっぱいになる���
