This #BlackHistoryMonth, we reaffirm our commitment to affordable + fair housing. Housing injustice is rooted in policy—and it can be changed. We stand with Black communities every day to protect homes + advance housing justice. 🖤✊🏾
#FairHousing#HousingJustice
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us that housing is a civil right—and that injustice is often built into systems, not caused by chance.
On Long Island, housing segregation did not happen accidentally. It was shaped by deliberate public policy, including early federal lending practices and redlining that excluded entire communities from housing stability for both homeowners and tenants. These decisions left a lasting imprint on where people could live—and who had access to safe, stable housing.
Today, we honor Dr. King by recognizing both this history and a hard-won local victory. After 46 years of advocacy and persistence, Matinecock Court has finally come to fruition—standing as proof that even deeply entrenched barriers can be challenged when communities refuse to give up.
This milestone is more than a housing development. It represents progress toward repairing the harm caused by exclusionary policies and advancing fair housing across Long Island.
As we remember Dr. King, we recommit ourselves to ensuring that housing stability—for homeowners and tenants alike—is no longer shaped by past injustices, but grounded in dignity, fairness, and opportunity for all.

🎄✨ Happy Holidays from Housing Help Inc. ✨🎄
As we reflect on this year, we are filled with gratitude — for our community, our partners, our staff, and the thousands of Long Islanders who trust us during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
This year, Housing Help Inc. made meaningful progress toward housing stability and equity across Long Island:
🏘️ Affordable Housing Milestones
We celebrated the long-awaited opening of Matinecock Court, bringing 146 affordable homes to seniors, working families, people with disabilities, and veterans — a project decades in the making and a testament to persistence and community advocacy.
📍 Growth & Access
We expanded and strengthened our physical presence to better serve residents in Huntington, Islip, Riverhead, and the East End, ensuring access to HUD-certified housing counseling where it’s needed most.
🏠 Housing Stability & Prevention
Our counselors supported thousands of households facing foreclosure, eviction, and financial hardship — helping families stay housed, stabilize their finances, and plan for the future.
📜 Policy & Advocacy Leadership
We continued to lead on Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) reform, fair housing, and local policy advocacy — amplifying community voices and pushing for solutions that create housing options without displacement.
🤝 Partnerships That Matter
Through strong collaborations with municipalities, state and federal leaders, funders, and nonprofit partners, we expanded our impact while staying rooted in our mission.
💙 People First
None of this is possible without our dedicated staff, board, volunteers, and supporters — who show up every day with compassion, professionalism, and heart.
As we head into the new year, we remain committed to housing justice, stability, and opportunity for all.
From all of us at Housing Help Inc., we wish you and your loved ones peace, health, and a hopeful New Year.

✨ This Thanksgiving, We Are Extra Grateful — And We Need You ✨
At @HousingHelpInc1 our hearts are full. We are grateful for our dedicated staff, committed Board, and the partners and supporters who make our mission possible. This year, we witnessed moments that remind us why we do this work:
🏡 The first residents of Matinecock Court moved into their new homes on the eve of Thanksgiving — families who have waited years for a safe, stable place to call home.
🎉 One of our staff members became a homeowner, and another was admitted to law school — proof that investing in people transforms futures.
Every day, families come to us facing uncertainty — foreclosure, rising rents, eviction notices, or the dream of owning a first home slipping away. We remain committed to walking beside them through foreclosure prevention, rental counseling, eviction prevention, financial literacy, first-time homebuyer support, bilingual assistance, and our growing services on the East End — with expansion to Nassau County coming soon.
But today, more than ever, we cannot do this alone.
As the need grows across Long Island, we rely on people like you — caring neighbors who believe that every family deserves stability, dignity, and hope. Your support is what keeps homes open, lights on, and families together.
