How dumb is the shotgun formation on the goal line in college football? I dove into its touchdown rate vs. QB under center, and it was even worse than I thought.
Spent a good chunk of the offseason on this research. Hope you enjoy 👇

@BMooreCreativ Gig em! This is my go-to example of 30’s throwbacks for a reason. They even cared to get the numbers right, something a lot of teams end up defaulting on and going to a provided block.
@MichaelDanger19 I would argue the Giants one is better but I’m here for it. Teams need to embrace the most gaudy and ridiculous uniforms in their catalog every once in a while, esp since fan backlash has closed Pandora’s box.

For the haters, go pick a random game off of baseball reference and score a game like this yourself. There’s like a 90% chance that the outcome wouldn’t change.
Also yes, I came up with this idea while watching the Astros.
I’ve had this idea for a while now, but here it goes:
Games are scored in bases rather than total runs. If a player gets on first, it counts as 1, and receives one more for each base advanced. If a player reaches home, however, they would get 6 bases instead of the assumed four.
Tell me a crazy MLB rule idea that you would prefer to the "Golden At-Bat" rule idea. Please contribute. Serious answers only. I'll start.
A team must throw at least one pitch at under 500 RPM or they forfeit.
I'm working on a new series exploring how baseball's history could've dramatically changed, and its backstory is something unto itself.
