@jrptigers I remember living in Dothan in the 70’s and 80’s. People were afraid to go to cities like Atlanta and even Montgomery and Birmingham. Cities seemed far away and dangerous. It perpetuated a fear of the “other”
@jrptigers Was brought up in southern Alabama many many years ago. My family got out and I’m so thankful. These comments are emblematic of a society stuck, telling themselves it’s “family values” or “better than the alternative” without really knowing the alternative.
