Trump Did Not Reject the Deal. He Revealed That There Is No Deal. There Never Was.

The deal was never about the Strait of Hormuz. It was never about nuclear weapons. It was never about regional security. It was never about freedom of navigation. It was never about any of the things the US said it was about.

The deal was about the midterms.

Trump said it himself. Months ago. He said the war would end "immediately after the election." He tied the end of the war to the electoral calendar. He told you the war is not a war. It is a campaign.

He rejected the deal because accepting it now would mean admitting the war failed before the voters went to the polls. He needs the war to end after November. He needs to campaign on "I ended the war" and "I beat Iran" and "I forced them to open the Strait." He cannot campaign on "I signed a deal months ago and the blockade is still in place and the oil is still not flowing."

So he rejected it. Not because it was unacceptable. Because it was early. Because the timing was wrong. Because the election is in November.

He said Iran is "losing badly." Iran is not losing. Iran is still exporting oil. Iran is still flying. Iran is still trading. Iran is still building. Iran is still fighting. Iran is still controlling the Strait. Iran is still standing. The only thing "losing" is the US blockade. It is leaking. It is failing. It is not working.

But he cannot say that. So he says Iran is losing. He says the deal is unacceptable. He says he likes making deals. He says nothing about what he wants. He says nothing about what he will do.

Because he has no plan. He has a calendar. And the calendar says November.

The deal was never the point. The deal was a distraction. The deal was a headline. The deal was something to talk about while the bombs keep falling and the oil keeps not flowing and the election keeps getting closer.

He rejected it. And in rejecting it, he told you the truth he has been hiding for months: there is no deal. There never was. There is only the election. And everything else the blockade, the sanctions, the airlines, the oil tankers, the frozen assets, the threats, the strikes is just the campaign.
