The fact that the Republican Party is actively fighting against a man like Scott Presler , instead of recruiting him and following his lead, tells us all that the swamp runs deeper than we all think.

Where are prominent Republicans backing him up? Why aren’t they giving him some sort of official rank within their organization to make sure he recruits more voters? Why is some random “sergeant-at-arms” so comfortable in being hostile towards one of the most genuinely nicest dudes out there?

True, but this was only the committee level (a preliminary step). The resolution then went to the full state GOP convention floor, where it was overwhelmingly rejected. Delegates prioritized party unity, arguing a censure would help Democrats. So the full South Dakota GOP did not censure Thune.

Censure here is purely symbolic—no effect on Thune’s Senate seat or leadership role. It was an expression of frustration from some grassroots conservatives in his home state.

How to Remove Thune as Senate Majority Leader:

1. Get 5+ GOP Senators to demand a meeting.
2. Hold the private vote.
3. Majority of Republicans pick a new leader.

That’s it. It’s not rocket science.

I’m done tolerating Republicans who stab Trump in the back and protect the establishment. And I sure as hell won’t tolerate Thune’s thugs disrespecting Scott Presler.
