@metoffice We’ve just had a storm pass us to the north of Milton Keynes: very strong winds, heavy rain and thunder and lightning. Be interesting to see footage of the epicentre to the north near Towcester!
If anyone has ever been excited at the
prospect of an hour’s peddle-o on the lake only to find that 20mins is plenty, spare a thought for these guys who’re peddling the length of the Thames! Please give them your support.

Today the last Hercules left @RAFBrizeNorton.
To mark the occasion a poem written by Cpl Benjamin has been read by Bethany and Darcy Reynolds, daughters to Sqn Ldr Huw Reynolds, 47 Sqn.
The last Hercules of 47 Squadron has left RAF Brize Norton flown by the OC. It’s heading to Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge to be sold off along with the rest of the fleet. The end of an era 👏 👏 @ForcesNews@RAFBrizeNorton
A final polish before the last two Hercules fly out of RAF Brize Norton for the very last time closing their 56 years of service with the RAF. @ForcesNews@RAFBrizeNorton
After 56 years of flying troops and equipment to some of the most dangerous places on earth, the Royal Air Force's Hercules is retiring from service.
Crews have paid tribute to the aircraft, which has formed the backbone of UK operational tactical mobility since the 1960s. 👏
Strange first actual tweet but the occasion seems fitting.Last night was an immense experience that was the summation of many years that have led to performing at easily the most heart-wrenching and surreal gig of my life. 1/5
The combined emotions saying goodbye to the old girl
The countless stories of old
The friends and crews who we had worked and flown with
@IronMaiden & @TeamStatusQuo & AK47 driving the gig
We gave Fat Albert, just the best possible send off!!!

The National Flypast for the C-130 will be the nations opportunity to say goodbye to the longest serving RAF aircraft. #c130#avgeek https://t.co/TlmSXWytLG
My C130 🧵
This has been an emotional week for many! For over 20 years, C130J crews and the men and women of @AirMobilityRAF have operated this magnificent aircraft in the knowledge that when Defence called, they answered. 1/

An amazing event and truly historic for a number of reasons, but everyone will remember today's flypast for it being first King's Birthday flypast for His Majesty King Charles III and for it being... The Last Ride
