Compadre blankets back in stock! These are made in south central Mexico with 100% upcycled fibers. Each blanket has who made it on the tag as well as the date it was made. Of all the blankets we've had these are the best quality. We're pretty excited, too, to have new colors!

@WatcherontheWeb We had that problem our first year. Then we clipped the beaks of the males with a toenail clipper when they were young - not far back, just enough to remove any hook and blunt the edge. No more scalped hens. After that we only had problems with the occasional psycho hen....

We're just about caught up on the saddles we've had come in on consignment. We're up to three kid's saddles so you have a selection to choose from. This one is a 12" kid's saddle that fits both horses and ponies. It comes with a good quality pony pad that has been used with the saddle.

So adorable!!!! There have been lots of requests for 10" kids' saddles. So we decided we would take a chance and see what this 10" Tough1 saddle was like in person. We weren't sure on the quality but are actually really, really surprised. This is a full suede saddle and it's a beautiful suede. Tough1 says this is a horse sized kid saddle. Note how well it matches the turquoise door.

@ClaudesBBQ Yes. I bought a german-made one that runs on 2 AA batteries (no power at our coop) 12 years ago. I change the batteries once a year. It has run like clockwork the whole time and never a hitch with the chickens. I have forgotten what it was like without it.

@catholic_comedy We raised an assortment of livestock and poultry when the kids were young. It didn't take long at all for them to come to the conclusion that some animals were just plain awful -- yet potentially quite delicious. Totally agree about turkeys.
