@anondeguerre@powerbottomdad1 They tried that with the modern Dodge Challenger, safety regulations are the reason it looks like the downs syndrome version of the old one
@IntrepidNewsUS@mtracey Someone who joined a gang out of desperation and never actually committed a violent crime. Unlikely but possible. Not to mention not everyone in there even caught on footage has tattoos.
@IntrepidNewsUS@mtracey You can't deny it has completely changed El Salvador as a country for the better, but I don't know about at what cost in the long term. You can imagine many people having innocent family members sent to a modern gulag will have some ramifications.
@IntrepidNewsUS@mtracey First of all, different country. Secondly, some didn't. It's better to let 10 guilty men go free than wrongly imprison 1 innocent man, is totally out the window down there.
@mtracey All of the guards are fully masked and brandishing assault rifles at all times. You could imagine allowing prisoners to contest wrongful conviction isn't high on the list of priorities, and there undoubtedly are some people in there mistakenly accused of being gang members.
@mtracey and that 2 hours is spent doing aerobics on the floor or Bible study literally in the walkway directly outside the cell. Not outside ever. And that's without getting into the questionably casual process on getting sent there in the first place.
@MartinRemains@elevateapp Exactly, it changed the meaning of the sentence completely.
Now it's not learn how to do this, it's just do it, and the reason for doing so is gone (to make your point stronger).
