@FanSince09 Abbott is at least 15 years older than most of the younger actors, but Stewart was 60 when the original movie came out, against a cast that was mostly in their late 20s-early 30’s.
@mikeryan I played dumb with one of my in-laws by pretending not to understand their “Let’s go Brandon” hat.
“Is Brandon like a singer or something?”
“No, it’s about Biden”
“Really, I thought you didn’t like him”
@tim_morrissey @GlobeChadFinn To be fair, those guys were all drafted by Beane when he was GM or Assistant GM. They were all college pitchers, which was another piece of the Moneyball strategy.
@un_a_valeable Pakistan would be pretty vulnerable to an Allied naval blockade, no? Especially with the ME no longer a reliable source of fuel and without easy access to Russian oil.
@edsbs I joined a group for remodeling your basement into a game room and another for Blackstone griddles and it’s all smash burgers and TV Too High content
@GlobeChadFinn There probably isn’t a GM today in either league who lets Bo play both sports. He’d have had a good, not great career in MLB and made more money, but might have been an all timer in the NFL.
@FanSince09 HBO Films are really an underrated genre unto itself, running the gamut from stuff that would qualify for prestige tv and straight trash that somehow had a cast stacked with Emmy nominations.
@dick_nixon@janeleavy1 Ted Williams’ legendary homer to the red seat at Fenway has often been scoffed at by modern players. Ortiz reportedly tried to reach it with a metal bat during BP and failed. No batter in the Statcast era has managed one to beyond 470ft to RF.

@AshCrossan I remember reading once that their suppliers are very product specific; as in the potatoes used for fries vs hash browns aren’t necessarily the same and come from different sources. Same could be true for QP’s versus the regular hamburger.
