As we approach the end of Women’s History Month, let’s take a moment to celebrate some of our heroes: the women who serve as the principals of our esteemed elementary schools. Join us in honoring these women who make our district #specialdifferentbetter.
In 1942, FDR’s executive order 9066 forced Americans of Japanese descent into “internment camps.” Fifth graders at MCAA learned from Jen Brock (MCS Communications Director, and descendant of camp survivors) to never forget just how quickly fear uprooted 120,000 American lives.
Thank you to the many @MariettaCitySch staff who volunteered to make today possible. We were honored to vaccinate almost 600 more MCS staff and their family members. Special thanks to our maintenance staff who worked 15+ hours yesterday to build the 20 private bays in our gym! 💙
Candidly, we’ve done the very best we know how as we reopened schools during a pandemic, leveraging the science and every available resource. I was honored to spend the time with @jdickerson; likewise, honored to share our story with the world @MariettaCitySch@MariettaGAhs
This morning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution published their list of 2021 Top Workplaces. Out of 175 winners, Marietta City Schools placed 14th. Even more impressive, we are the only public school district on the list. Thank you for making Marietta #specialdifferentbetter.
Fifth graders at MCAA celebrated some amazing women with their door decorations this month! Check them out to learn some interesting history!#WomensHistoryMonth
Sunday @MariettaCitySch will be featured on @60Minutes re how we navigated reopening schools during a pandemic. Nothing was easy or predictable-I attribute our success to the unwavering commitment of staff, the grace extended by families, and the incredible resiliency of children
We are incredibly grateful to Poole’s Pharmacy, PTA leaders, Kiwanis, Rotary, MCS nurses, Coach Hopp, church volunteers, central office staff, MCS maintenance, MHS administrators, MPD, MFD - and many more who came together to show our staff how much we care about our educators.
Our girls varsity basketball team is making history during Women’s History Month and we couldn’t be more proud! The Lady Blue Devils are headed to the state championship next Saturday! @HoopCoachDeWitt#statebound
