Sometimes, behind a LinkedIn profile and a CV is a person quietly trying not to lose hope. If you’re a recruiter, hiring manager or someone who knows of an org looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition professional, I’d be genuinely grateful if you would consider my profile.
I am sharing this not to blame Singapore or anyone here.
I know many people have built wonderful lives here, and I genuinely respect that.
I’m simply sharing the reality of one person who moved here with hope and is finding the journey much harder than expected.
I came to Singapore with dreams, not expectations of an easy life.
I was willing to learn the market, adapt, start again and even explore opportunities outside my previous experience.
I completed my CEI certification, continued learning and kept applying.
The hardest part isn’t simply being rejected.
It’s repeatedly questioning yourself.
“Am I missing something?”
“Is my experience no longer valuable?”
“Why is nobody willing to give me a chance?”
When rejection continues for months, it can slowly affect your confidence.
But again and again, the answer has been no.
I completely understand that Talent Acquisition is a challenging space for expats, especially when companies can hire local talent and when work-pass requirements and quotas come into play.
Came here believing that my 13 years of experience in Talent Acquisition would give me a fair chance. Since arriving, I have applied to countless roles through LinkedIn, JobStreet, Indeed, Foundit etc. each application carrying the same hope: “Maybe this one will work out.”
Singapore is a country I always heard people speak so highly of. A place known for opportunity, safety, professionalism and a better quality of life. But my experience has been very different. For me, the move has brought uncertainty, disappointment and a constant struggle. #SG
I moved to Singapore in Nov 2025 with my wife as a trailing spouse. I had a reasonably settled life in India, but I chose to start over in a new country—with hope, excitement and dreams of building a new chapter of life.
I never imagined how difficult that chapter would become.
Excited to start a new chapter in Singapore 🇸🇬!
I’m a Talent Acquisition Specialist with 13 years of global experience in end-to-end recruitment. Currently on a Dependent Pass and exploring roles where companies can sponsor an Employment Pass.
