Bullish for Cape size bulker rates. Quick overview is that China is increasing imports and a larger percentage of bauxite is coming from new mines in Guinea which boosts ton miles compared with shipping from Australia. Aluminum exports from Gulf countries are lower this year due to Hormuz issues, and China is picking up some of the slack. I'm long $NMM and $SBLK in the bulk ship owner sector. If Hormuz opens and Gulf aluminum smelters ramp up, bauxite ton miles will likely go down though.
@TiffanyFong I went to the Amalfi coast in April and was really disappointed. It was just too jam packed full of tourists, even though I was there in the off-season. If you like hot spring resorts, go to Poseidon Garden on the island of Ischia.
I hope one day someone writes a book about Okeanis’ shareholder value creation since its IPO.
Asset sales, fleet acquisitions, massive dividends, share buybacks below NAV, equity issuance above NAV… just an incredible capital allocation story. $OET $ECO
Great results from New Hope ($NHC.AX)! Higher coal prices helped lift quarterly earnings by 30%, and the company declared a final dividend of A$0.30 per share. Looking ahead, the continued expansion of its New Acland mine is expected to support further production growth.
New Hope is a top-ten holding in the $COAL ETF.
