In the past football pants offered large knee pads and tight fit. We used to find the thinnest pads available and cut a slit behind the knee. WRs started leaving the pads out, now they are above the knee. Many old fields were covered with stones that made your knees bloody.
Some of those years ended up getting coaches fired, which means zero, quality athletes can come from any state. Dalton Keene was a great player from Colorado.
