@MountMamaLiving He was actually being super beligerant and aggressive with the teenagers in the video, one is my stepson. Lol I do appreciate him coming forward and apologizing for his behavior. I was outrageously disappointed, but I believe his apology was sincere.
@MountMamaLiving I unfortunately was NOT there (juju was too good to risk watching from my couch, need to obviously switch that up next week) and I can tell you it was full on. You could barely hear the announcers.
This is an interesting read about NIL and where WVU stands. Assuming these sources are factual, I have a lot of thoughts.
It's been long said that NIL would only benefit the haves and would kill the have nots. I'm not a fan of the way NIL has been handled, but I have been a supporter of the players benefitting monetarily in some way when their NIL is used in promos, video games, merchandise etc., but only in a way that makes sense to help these "kids" be responsible when they're still maturing. Maybe a trust situation or stipends, not just throwing 6+ figures at them to play.
I digress..
I've said to the very few people I talk to (literally I don't talk to many people) that maybe I'm being optimistic, but my gut tells me WVU is not as hard up when it comes to this topic as it may seem on the surface. Where other schools have been doing back door deals forever because the cash was so readily available, with money being out in the open now, I think this may open doors for WVU. Add in people like Pat McAfee who is not only generous, but shines a light on WVU on a national scale that we've never had before. His platform is giving high school athletes a positive view of coming to WVU and in my eyes that influence is a HUGE factor.
Baseball and Basketball (women's and men's) are both doing well and if Wren sticks around I think we are in a better position than it may have once seemed.
What do I know though, I'm just a girl. 🤷
@Lakersided310@MoTownTickler I do agree so hard, but GD any positivity I inject into my veins for Mountaineer football is like a bad omen. I said this about the 5 game day picks. I must stay completely neutral for the football Gods to shine upon them. Keep the positivity up please.
@PhilipSayre Our fans always want a good team, but we honestly don't know how to handle it. I got overly excited in the first half, more than I wanted to, but assuming the defense can shape up we have the makings of something great as we grow. We were projected to win no more than 5 games.
@OwenSchmitt35 Appreciate the apology. Coming from a die hard Mountaineer fan, to hear you of all people took things too far with my stepson and his friends, was a complete let down. Luckily, I'm a believer that people can be accountable for their mistakes. Thank you for doing so.
Correct. One of the teenagers is my stepson. Totally disappointing. Do better Owen. Runaway beer truck apparently can't handle his alcohol any more. 🚚🍻🙄
We’ve received multiple messages from fans in the area of this situation last night. All have said the same thing: “Owen appeared intoxicated and was harassing other fans. He put one young man in a headlock and grabbed him by his shirt. He was escorted to a player’s box by the troopers.” If true (and it sounds like it is), regardless of who you are, you are responsible for how you behave in public and treat others.

@swizzlegfx I have barely slept since Thursday night, it's 6:40 here and I'm running on E man. FOMO with rollouts in this Fandom require serious commitment
