Reflections, 9 Dec
This judicial review was about demanding a proper consultation based on a very narrow point of law.
We are deeply disappointed the judge was not able to rule in our favour, but it is important to note that the judge did not vindicate the DfE's actions. 1/
My sister Konnie and I lost our dad to prostate cancer; we saw his pain. In June I argued men with non-metastasised version should have access to abiraterone drug @NHSEngland as Scotland and Wales
Fabulous news that @_Government_UK making it available to all in need in England
1000+ residents eg @WellsHouseRoad and others have combined to demand compensation/ mitigation from @HS2ltd
Now yet more disappointment as completion date gets further and further away, due to Tories' incompetence
I raised with transport sec @Heidi_Labour who agreed to meet
@dianabarran You caused the downfall of Holland Park School by refusing to listen to teachers, students, parents, local councillors and community members. Instead you chose to pursue your MAT agenda. Nothing has improved. You will not be missed
Today is my last day in NEU head office & I am full of emotion.
I have really enjoyed 40 years as an activist & a union officer: helping those who work in our schools and colleges and the children they teach.
Being part of a movement to shift the balance towards working people
I second that @McKayEli
Thank you @cyclingkev 🙏🏽🏽🙏🏽 You have made a Magnificent and monumental difference to the lives of many. We salute you 🙌🏾🙌🏾💥💥💥
@LBC@PaulBrandITV 1/The whole system needs to be overhauled. Huge MATs homogenising state education is causing massive divide. Parents who can buy an alternative are doing so. Many would send to state schools if they felt the education our fab teachers were able to offer would lead to fulfilment.
Teachers and social workers suffer most from ‘lost decade’ for pay growth in UK
This is why we are balloting for strike action.
The consequences of the Government’s lack of care - are severe for our children
It’s right to fight. https://t.co/rj4yx7VK4I
What’s in a name?
Seems the @educationgovuk & @dianabarran thought it was a ‘consultation’ until we pointed out they weren’t doing it correctly (eg the clue is in the name….)
Let’s see what the Judge thinks - verdict due shortly.

New: Future of Holland Park school hangs on legal decision on whether or not the community was consulted over DfE’s transfer move

Report of judicial review hearing on DfE's handling of the move to pass the school to United Learning.
🙏Sending thanks & good karma to all our many supporters & friends ahead of today’s High Court hearing
Whatever the outcome we hope we’ve raised awareness about the importance of genuine & honest consultation w/ parents, teachers & the community about the future of a school 🙏
Gee @_AnnaDavis did you want to reflect, even for a nanosecond, about the motives of the @Ofstednews downgrading?
Anyone with the slightest insight, including you who has covered the saga, knows HPS isn’t inadequate.
This was a stitch up to give HPS to @UnitedLearning
