As we reflect on our journey, we are proud to highlight a key milestone: the Graduation Ceremony of the 8th batch of students from our six-month, free "Sewing, Cutting & Dress Designing" course at Zainab Tailors Institute, implemented under the Memaar-e Farda Women Empowerment Program. The ceremony was held in November 2025 in Hazaratown, Quetta, Pakistan, celebrating the dedication, resilience, and achievements of our graduates.

#Pakistan: Entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and community / women empowerment was our response to ongoing Hazara genocide.

Read on:
The Hazara genocide (ongoing since 1998) was in full swing; the AQ-ISIS-Taliban affiliated Islamist terrorists successfully confined a community of 500-700K within two 10-miles radius in Quetta, and openly bragging of 'hitting century' using Pakistan's favorite sports #Cricket analogy for killing 100s of Hazaras with single bomb blast; Pakistan's highest authority callously mocking Hazara victims with 'truck load of tissues' to wipe their tears.
Hazara businesses were targeted by terrorists in broad day light in the heart of business district, and Quetta's highly connected Land Mafia was going for the 'kill' buying highly valuable Hazara businesses for change. The 'economic blow' appeared a strategic part of terrorist's 'isolation and confinement' policy.
HRC Org working with grass roots non-profit organizations first launched 'Hazara Achievement Award' (ongoing for last 15 years) to energize and counter low morale, with broader aim of establishing a sustainable economic model.
The #MemaareFarda (literal: Architects of Our Future) was launched to lift the economically-marginalized Hazara community with all funds raised by Hazara community members. The #interestfree #loan has helped many community businesses.
#ZainabTailors was the first project towards a women-empowered sustainable business. In 2023, the 100% women workforce, after graduating from HRC-paid (free) 6-month dress making course, successfully delivered 600 school uniform as their first order to local-school client. Two additional community schools have expressed interest to join the program.

On my recent visit to Quetta in Pakistan, a spur of the moment 'Hazaragi Kola' day by our @HRC_Org team (& affiliated non-profit partners) at a popular outdoor venue.
HRC is working on the economic viability of the Hazara cultural artifact industry. We hope designers in Pakistan, and elsewhere, will help guide us with the design aspects of the artifacts.
#Hazara #Culture
'Hazaragi Diorama' depicting the cultural and folk life of the Hazara people at the Lok Virsa (The National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage) Museum, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Since Pakistan's independence, this may possibly be the first acknowledgement of Hazaras at the national level in Pakistan, albeit a recognition that came after paying a heavy price undergoing #genocide by Pakistan's 'good Taliban' (an ack made by Fmr. DG FIA to Pakistani Senate - Dawn 2012; https://t.co/9x7FzK80n3).
The display was made possible by the great work of Ms. @fouziasaeed, @lokvirsaisb, Ms. Fatima Atif, Hazaragi Academy, Hazara Democratic Party, among others. @HRC_Org & Quetta-based Social non-profit Wahdat Guardian Org (WGO) were fortunate to give a helping hand in the completion of project.
Immediately prior to the launch while I was visiting Quetta, I received an urgent call from @khaliqhazarahdp asking to meet with Hazaragi academy team to help with several cultural artifacts needed to complete the display. Within 30-minutes of the meeting with Hazaragi Academy, HRC secured the missing fund and we then met with Mr. Nematullah Javed who graciously donated other invaluable cultural items from WGO collection.
