@Ms_Husbands I did an experiment like this with 6 grade and they were so distracted with the food. How would you keep this from happening?

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@alliphillipsx That sounds fun! Would you work on this as a class? Are the five senses a part of kindergarten standards?

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

http://t.co/4C7yA0pGiw We are using flip notebooks in 1st grade. Great visual for students to connect parts to their labels. #EDU632CHAT

@KNE_bama I feel like that was the first thing I learned in Social Studies. Do you think it is b/c of the increased importance of CCSS?

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@hallie_MTR I love that so much! That's something to write down and post in the classroom somewhere as a reminder to instill values

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@SaraCavitt What a great way to introduce social studies to such young minds!

#EDU632CHAT Q2:I loved the 1st grade section of the video. That teacher is not only teaching what community is, but building it in her class

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@joyy93 How do you do that? Did you get to look at it through a microscope? That was my favorite science tool!

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@chanteliese I'm not familiar with fishbowl? What is that?

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@MaryAnnR87 With baking soda, salt, and a dark corner of my garage

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@msrollman You cover it in baking soda and salt a few times, keep it in the dark, then wrap it in mummy wrap! It took a few weeks.

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@awong026 Ew. No. But it was really fun! It made the whole Egyptian mummy process real to me.

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@Patric411 You have to cover it in baking soda and salt, then let it sit in a dark place. You cover it more times, then wrap it in paper

#EDU632CHAT Q1: My favorite social studies project was when we studied Egypt and I mummified a chicken!

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

@JoyceJamerson My post is not showing up under the hashtag. I don't know why!

[Hannah Redding @hreddingmtr]

Q1:In 5th grade we studied Egypt. I volunteered to mummify a chicken and bring it in for show and tell. #EDU632CHAT
