Elon Musk is putting more than $276 million behind Republicans ahead of the midterms, and he's doing it without the high-profile campaign appearances that defined his support for President Trump in 2024.

The world's only trillionaire is now the biggest known donor of the election cycle, including a staggering $158 million contribution to the main super PAC backing Republican Senate candidates.

Another $76 million is going to America PAC, which is rebuilding the massive door-knocking operation it used to help elect Trump in 2024. Musk is also directing $10 million toward a group supporting Texas Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton.

The spending marks a dramatic reversal from May 2025, when Musk said he planned to scale back his political contributions, declaring, "I think I've done enough."

Now, with control of Congress on the line, Musk is pouring money into Republican races while largely staying out of the spotlight.

The FAA is proposing permanent flight restrictions around President Trump's Palm Beach airport and Mar-a-Lago after repeated concerns over unauthorized aircraft and rogue drones near the property.

The proposal was requested by the U.S. Secret Service in the interest of national security.

The plan would create a special flight zone requiring low-flying aircraft to get clearance, stay in contact with air traffic control and meet stricter security requirements before entering the airspace.

Some security experts, however, argue the new rules may not go far enough to stop determined threats.
