@emilykmay I’m constantly assessing my interactions with my children, wondering if I raised my voice too much, if a tantrum was the result of some unmet need, if I was patient and present enough, if I made them feel heard, etc.
@emilykmay Oooh I do so love a memoir. Trevor Noah’s is very good. I enjoyed Tina Fey’s, both of Mindy Kaling’s, Amy Schumer’s. Dispatches from Pluto is memoir-ish and a really interesting/fun read. Hunger by Roxane Gay is good but pretty dark.
@emilykmay I just wait til they’re super on sale! Though I feel like Target is having fewer sales these days. H&M is also solid and usually not wildly expensive.
@emilykmay I didn’t work a traditional social work job and instead took a job in higher ed as an advisor. I do think that an MSW is a pretty flexible degree in that way. (Now I’m a SAHM.) If you want to chat more, I’d be happy to! I went to UT Knoxville.
@emilykmay Completely agree. Your takes are so nuanced and thoughtful. It’s one of the reasons I follow you. Acknowledging complexity and approaching topics with empathy is not always received well in Twitter land. Keep fighting the good fight. 😊
@Ding_Gorgeous The simple blue crewnecks were THE must-have merch item from the Eras Tour. People waited in line for hours and showed up days before their show for a chance to snag it. And her team seems to have taken zero notes. I don’t get it.
@emilykmay Ooooh love your kitchen. We’re remodeling currently and I’m debating green cabinets. I’d probably go semi flush mount for this kitchen. Something interesting and cottagey. I’ve been having a lot of luck finding great fixtures on eBay, by the way.
