📰 || 260615 According to this article, the project to install new classrooms (and bathrooms) in public schools in Zambia with HOSHI #호시's last year's donation (qrt tweet) has been completed.
Thanks to a donation from SEVENTEEN's HOSHI, new classrooms were installed in public schools in Zambia, significantly improving the educational environment for local children.
The Community Chest of Korea announced on the 15th that the construction of public school classrooms in Zambia, initiated by a donation from SEVENTEEN member HOSHI (Kwon Soonyoung), has been completed, enabling approximately 250 children to learn in a better environment.
This project was carried out with a donation of 100 million won delivered by Hoshi through the Gyeonggi Community Chest last year. The supported school is a public school with approximately 250 students ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade; previously, it was in a poor environment with only two classrooms, forcing students of multiple grades to take classes together in a single space.
Through the project, 5 classrooms and restrooms spanning a total of 2 buildings were newly constructed, and existing facilities were also renovated. As a result, students are now able to take classes in a more spacious and comfortable environment.
In addition, support was provided for the repair of aging facilities and electrical work at a child protection facility in Kitwe, a city in northern Zambia, contributing to the improvement of living conditions.
HOSHI said, "I participated with the hope that children could learn and grow in a better environment," adding, "I am very happy to think of the children nurturing their dreams in the new classroom, and I want to continue showing interest in places that need help."
Meanwhile, HOSHI has been consistently engaging in charitable activities since joining the Honor Society, a group of high-value individual donors to the Community Chest of Korea, in 2021. Last year, he donated 100 million won to support the construction of a national orphanage in Laos, and in May of this year, he delivered a donation to the Army's "Patriotic Devotion and Comradeship Fund." In addition, he is carrying out various social contribution activities both domestically and internationally, including sponsoring the transportation-vulnerable, supporting the construction of media libraries, and donating coal briquettes.
