35 Kashmiri Sikhs were taken from their homes and killed in front of their Gurdwara by men in Indian Army uniforms.

For years, the truth was deflected and denied. Survivors spoke. Evidence emerged. Even former Indian officials later confirmed what many already knew.

Panjab means something deeper. It means sovereignty, sacrifice, spirit. It’s the land where saints were warriors, where freedom is instinct, not ideology.

We say “Panjab” because it carries weight - The weight of Baba Deep Singh’s head still fighting, the roar of Guru Gobind Singh’s sons standing tall in death, the fire of Bhagat Singh’s smile at the noose.

June 1984, the Indian Army - The 4th largest army in the world - launched a full-scale military assault on Sri Darbar Sahib, the holiest shrine of the Sikhs. They came with tanks, helicopters, snipers, phosphorus bombs and thousands of soldiers, expecting no resistance.

But what they faced instead were a handful of fearless Sikh warriors - Soorme - who chose martyrdom over surrender. Outnumbered and outgunned, these defenders of the faith held their ground for days, fighting with unmatched courage to protect the sanctity of Guru's house.

They fought until their last breath for Sikhi, for honor, and for the soul of the Panth. Their blood turned the marble red, and their spirit lit a fire that still burns in the heart of every Sikh today.
