@AngryMariners They don't think that's the roots of failure. They are just saying it because that's what the fans want to hear and can understand. The fundamental issue to them is the archaic managing/coaching in the big league level.
@RyanDivish Despite all the failures, I still think it's just a setback like what the Braves had last year. Another down year, without the physical toll of WBC, locker room drama, inexperienced management, and weird IL stint, will convince me of a re-do.
If 1) the M's sweeps the Rockies; 2) the M's sweeps the Astros; 3) the Braves sweeps the Astros. The M's will tie the Astros.
But the craziest thing about this season is, even there is a probability those three things can happen, you just know they won't happen.
@SleeperMariners Manny Acta will be the interim. I think an interesting option is reunion with Andy McKay, the master of our pitching coach system but lured by Cleveland.
@AfterHomePlate@SeattleSports Exactly the opposite if you look closely at this month. It is their pitching collapsing that cost them out of contention.
@RefuseToLosePod They are terrible at identifying talents in that price range. This year we paid Refsnyder and Ward who are most recent examples but almost every year they spend 7M on a player who is good on paper and hand in their career abysmal.
@luke_arkins I mean, the accomplishment is praiseworthy. But the team in such a bad place definitely eclipsed the glory. We could still use a little highlight and celebration here and there for the vibes.
