I fully support the voice actors’ decision to boycott AI. AI has already had a significant impact on the voice-over industry.Behind a few minutes of finished audio are countless hours of practice, auditions, revisions, and meticulous attention to detail！💪

German dub voice actors are boycotting Netflix following new AI training concerns

This comes following the insertion of a clause into new contracts that allows the platform to use their voices for AI training without compensation, says a spokesperson for the German voice actor association Verband Deutscher Sprecher (VDS, EN: Association of German Speakers)

Netflix sent the voice actors a letter, which ends by saying that "prolonged delays around signing our AOR, or persistent calls for a boycott, put production timelines and production investments at risk, and we unfortunately could be forced to rely on German subtitles [in Germany] while continuing to offer dubs in other languages"
