JUST IN: @IrrawaddyNews (Burmese) say #Myanmar army abolished retirement age of 65 for army chief and deputy army chief
Min Aung Hlaing would have retired in two months time if not for this latest change
Things like switching on aircon, having warm shower and watching Netflix become guilty-privilege when thousands of our brothers and sisters are on the run and in IDP camp. 💔💔
We need to win this once and for all soonest possible. #WhatsHappeninglnMyanmar
With arrests, airstrikes & rape, #Myanmar military junta is terrorizing the civilians of #Mindat. This is the result of the years of int'l failure to hold the military accountable. Swift action to end this impunity is vital to save our innocent civilians' lives.

NEVER FORGIVE ~ NEVER FORGET!
Left was a man who had been abducted, tortured to death and sent death body home without any internal organs! 💔
Right is the guy who gave the order and still causing in-humane violence every single minute.

#UN should have shown their capabilities and authority on each crisis to promote actual world peace. No one just give a damn to its long letter anymore.
Or it doesn’t have any capabilities other than writing? 🤔
If you add hundreds and thousands which died due 70+ years civil war, thousands butchered in 8888, nearly 140,000 died due to junta mismanagement in Nargis, 25,000 Rohingya killed in 2017, you realize this military has killed unbelievable number of civilians. It must fail.
The coup is failing. SAC is failing. But SAC seems intent to go till the end dragging the whole country with them. International community shouldn’t let that happen.
#NUG welcomes the People’s Defence Forces across the country; thanks to everyone participating in keeping all #Myanmar citizens safe. #PDF is a firm step towards #FederalArmy
Yekha, May 8

Let us be very clear on where we stand on Rohingya (including inside Rakhine state and now in IDP camps in Bangladesh). Their citizenship rights and human rights must be fully respected. They must have their voices represented in government.
We are rebuilding our nation!
We all want #NUGMyanmar to speed up their actions. But guys, most of them are working from hiding & they need to take every step with extra care.
Let continue our support with a little bit of more patience. 💪🏽💪🏽
