Another exciting week has started for our game creators, as the htk GameJam is back again like every term.

Of course, a GameJam has to have a specific theme and this time we can look forward to some unusual games, because it's all about “FROGPUNK”.

Once again last semester, our recent alumni presented their fantastic graduation projects in public exhibitions at the htk museum.

The SIGNALE 8 and CHECK.04 exhibitions showcased work from various fields that made every creative heart jump for joy.

In August, our talented alumni celebrated their graduation in Hamburg, Berlin and Online, where they were given a festive farewell by the academy director, programme management and lecturers. Here is a look back at our certificate ceremony in Hamburg.

Save the date: On the 23rd of August 2024, we will open the doors again at Campus Hamburg, as our “htk museum“ enters the next round and presents the fantastic graduation projects of our alumni.

Jannis designed these two fantastic pieces in the “Creative Workshop“ during the 1st semester.

The task was simple: “You create a concept for an assemblage (a three-dimensional work of art that combines various objects into an integrated whole) and realise it.“

Our students had the privilege of visiting the IC University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam again this year to take part in the “Personal Leadership“ course.

An unforgettable excursion that, despite the educational content, managed to get to know Amsterdam in a special way.

OHNE TITEL - From Maïscha Souaga
Maïscha designed the entire branding for a podcast that focusses on art.

The various episodes explore different art styles and eras, focussing on similarities, even if they couldn't be more different, such as "CLASSICISM MEETS [GRAFFITI]".

Sophie created an editorial illustration to accompany the article "In praise of boredom", which emphasises the importance of doing nothing in a creative profession in order to make room for daydreams. With other words: "No boredom, no Mona Lisa".

VERVE - From Neele Malin Kalicki
For her final project, Neele decided to create an indie mag called Verve. This magazine is about people who are passionate about something completely different alongside their professional life.

The 7th htk GameJam is in full swing. In addition to their solo dev lives, the GameJam offers our creatives an excellent opportunity to practice teamwork and game development under time pressure.

In this Jam they will create titles based on the theme "RETROFUTURISM".

Character Design is more than just a drawing. Characters play an important role in telling a story and that's why it's essential for student Sophie to create memorable figures through physical appearance, personality and subtle quirks.
