As a Data Analyst, learning how to work with dates in SQL is very vital. Whether you are converting from text to numbers, ensuring consistent formatting (dd/mm/yyyy), or performing other essential tasks, proficiency in handling dates is a daily necessity. 🧵

Reminds me of my family friend who moved as a student, I was driving her around so she could settle in. She was getting food from me all the time but the one time I needed her help she asked me to pay 😂
Today I turn 43.
My first salary was ₦60,000 a month. I lived on half and invested for my future.
Over 20 years later, my portfolio can fund my family’s lifestyle if needed.
To the young person making financial projections and wondering, “Can this really happen?”
Let me share my journey. A thread…
A lot to unpack here.
The FG did grow revenue by more than 100% to ₦6.2trn (from ₦3.6trn). The increase came from higher oil receipts and stronger tax collections.
But interest payments on debt stood at ₦7.7trn, therefore, gulping the entire revenue generated.
The FG spent ₦16.1trn. This means that, aside from interest payments on debt, the FG spent ₦8.4trn on other activities (i.e., recurring and capex).
Of the ₦8.4trn allocated to other activities, ₦700bn went to capital expenditure, while the rest went to recurrent expenditure (including payrolls and overheads).
In effect, fresh borrowings of ₦7.7trn were spent on recurrent expenditure.
If I wanted to be “mischievous”, I’d have said ₦7.7trn was borrowed to pay salaries (which is not false, by the way). But I won’t do that. That’s not my objective.
So in summary, the government is fetching water into a “basket”. The harder they work to “make things happen”, the more the ghost of the past haunts.
And from the looks of things, this may be the best the FG can do. But the jury is out.
World Bank: Nigeria’s debt interest payments rose to N7trn in H1 2026 — gulping over 100% of revenue
Nigeria’s interest payments rose to N7.7 trillion in the first half of 2026, from N5.6 trillion in the corresponding period of 2025, amid high domestic borrowing costs, according to the World Bank.
The interest payment gulped 124.19 percent of the federal government revenue.
In its 2026 Nigeria Development Update (NDU) titled ‘Beyond the Federal Purse: How Higher Revenues Reshaped State Priorities,’ the bank said interest payments increased to 3.1 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) from 2.5 percent a year earlier.

Let me tell you something many people don't know about all of these Core i3, i5, i7 and i9.
Many people don't understand that each of them has its uniqueness.
You don't just say "I want Core i7" merely because it's Core i7. You need to consider what exactly you want to use the laptop for.
I'll deferentiate between all these cores.
But first of all....
What exactly are these things called cores?
Think of them as workers inside your laptop. Basically, they determine your laptop's level of performance.
1.🔹 Core i3 (Basic performance)
Good for ordinary activities like:
• Browsing the internet
• Microsoft Word/Excel
• Online classes
• Watching videos
• Emails and everyday tasks
If you're just using your laptop for student work and casual activities, then Core i3 is all you need.
2.🔹 Core i5 (Mid-range performance)
This one's good for:
• A certain level of multitasking
• Programming
• Office work
• Photo editing
• General professional use
• Some level of gaming
For many people, Core i5 is the sweet spot, especially if you want a balance between basic functions and a little bit of extra efficiency without having to break the bank. Students, programmers and office people can definitely go for this.
3.🔹 Core i7 (High performance)
Designed for more demanding work, and it's good for:
• Video editing
• Serious multitasking
• More demanding software
• Gaming
• Graphics/design work
• Professional workloads
This is a good deal for graphic designers, video editors, and people who might want to use some really demanding software.
4.🔹 Core i9 (Very high performance)
Generally a very high-end Core option, designed for people who need a lot of processing power, such as:
• Serious professional video editing
• 3D rendering
• High-end gaming
• Heavy professional workloads
Most ordinary users don't need an i9 at all, and that's probably why the highest you'll easily find people advertising in the Nigerian market is i7.
.....
Having said all that...
I must make something clear:
Checking the Core isn't enough.
You also need to check the generation and exact processor.
For example:
Core i5-8250U → 8th Gen
Core i7-1165G7 → 11th Gen
Core i5-1235U → 12th Gen
Core i7-13700H → 13th Gen
The letter at the end also matters:
The U, P, H, or HX at the end have what they mean. I'll make a separate post explaining them later.
Another thing worth remembering: always choose an SSD over an HDD.
🚨❌ Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw are both OUT of Manchester United squad to face Atlético Madrid.
“They didn’t travel due to physical issues”, confirms Michael Carrick.
I have been talking about my wife’s accident.
Today I want to talk about the man who saved her.
@iam_mcroyal Mr Adeniyi Adeyemi
When it happened, people were saying she was not alive.
He refused to leave her there.
He kept her conscious.
He gave first aid.
He made sure an ambulance took her.
He stayed till midnight.
And he has not stopped.
He has been coming every day to see her.
Checking on her.
He left last night by 9pm
Showing care.
Just a good man wothna good heart who decided to be different.
In this country, a lot of people run from accident scenes.
They are scared of the police.
They are scared of trouble.
So they look and walk away.
He did not.
That choice is the reason my wife is recovering.
That choice changed my family.
I cannot appreciate him enough.
If you see this, help me thank him.
Pray for him.
Bless him.
@iam_mcroyal
Thank you.
God bless you and everything that concerns you.
I and my family will not forget.
Lmao 🤣 I expected the Nairalife conference to pull me into trouble. I thought I was ready for the effect, but I wasn’t lol 😂
I’ve received many messages since then. I’ve also gained more enemies 😭. I’ve written about personal finance since Covid. And will continue to do so but for now I’ll lock my account so things settle down.
Lagos Life launched on October 1st. Just 9 days later, over 4.7 million people have played the game.
Today, I’m excited to announce that Vatar, the parent company behind Lagos Life, has closed a $500K angel round led by AB Hassan (@ijbguy), Nathan Nwachuku (@_KingNath), and GB Agboola (@TechProd_Arch).
Lagos is just the beginning. We’re building entire worlds, and there’s so much more to come. 🌍

So I foiled their plan by just calling them this morning and telling them we are harvesting today right now right now instead of tomorrow 😂
They were like boss but it’s raining
I asked the manager to pull out all five rain coat and boots for everyone harvesting to wear 😂
So we have successfully switched the harvest from tomorrow to today just to foil their plan
Anyways we got 15 bags of cucumbers on the first harvest only God knows how many bags I would have gotten if I had waited till tomorrow.
Time to make all those hours you spend playing Danfo Run count! 🚀
Soon, you’ll be able to play as a Chowdeck rider, collect vouchers on the road, grab Chowdeck power-ups and convert your coins to Chowscore.
You'll also be able to play the Danfo Run game while waiting for your order!
Exciting things are coming to the road.
Stayyyy tuned! 🤭💚
What do you mean by “this is not factual”? How factual do you want it to be? Lol.
When I talk about “successful,” I mean most profitable, primarily in absolute numerical profit and, to a lesser extent, profit margin. However, I will indulge you and extend the comparison to other metrics.
I referred to the Top 20 companies, so let’s do a factual check across the Top 20.
Revenue, FY2025:
7 of the Top 20 companies on the NGX are banks/banking groups. That is 35%.
Profit Margin, FY2025:
9 of the Top 20 are banks/banking groups. That is 45%.
Market Capitalisation, as of today:
6 of the Top 20 are banks/banking groups. That is 30%.
Profit After Tax, FY2025:
10 of the Top 20 most profitable companies on the NGX are banks/banking groups. That is 50%.
And they are not concentrated at the bottom. 6 of the Top 10 companies by absolute profit are banks/banking groups:
Zenith: 2nd
ETI: 4th
GTCO: 5th
Access: 7th
UBA: 9th
Stanbic IBTC: 10th
Return on Equity, FY2025:
7 of the Top 14 are banks/banking groups. That is 50%.
So I sincerely do not understand the basis for saying my statement is “not factual.”
I appreciate that you seem to agree with the broader point that our economy has serious room for improvement. We can certainly debate whether the seemingly isolated success of our banks, compared to other sectors, is evidence of that, or what conclusions should be drawn from it.
However, the underlying observation I made is factual. Banks are disproportionately represented among the most profitable and successful companies on the NGX. The numbers support that.
The problem is not that Nigerian banks are very successful. A functioning economy needs strong, profitable banks. The concern is that financial institutions appear disproportionately represented among our most profitable listed companies, while relatively few businesses in manufacturing, industry, agriculture, technology and other productive sectors have achieved comparable scale and profitability.
🚨🇵🇹 Cristiano Ronaldo: “I decided to leave the camp without waiting for any further breach of word. For me the truth is still the most important thing in the relationship between people. However much it hurts, let them tell me the truth.
In fact, in a conversation I had with the President of the FPF and with the coach on the morning of the day of that press conference — they can certainly confirm this — I reaffirmed that if they did not want me there they should tell me. It was enough for them to be frank with me. I would accept that and I promised that we would prepare something beautiful, as I dream will happen, and no one would be left angry.
I remember it as if it were today. They replied in unison that no. That my place was in the National Team.
Never, at any moment, have I interfered in any technical or tactical decision of any coach or national team manager in almost 25 years of career.
I accept, for better or worse, what they propose that I do. I respect the decision, and when they break their word to me, I feel that my place is not there.
I also owe an apology to my national team teammates for having left the camp.
Despite the absolute breach of trust in the coach’s word, as those who witnessed these conversations can attest, I should not have done it. The responsibility is exclusively mine.
I apologise to the Portuguese people once again, but the breaking of one’s word has, for me, a defining impact. I felt that, from that point on, my remaining would only harm the working group, and I did what I have always said I would do if I did not feel useful: I packed my bags and left.
The consequence of this act of mine must be assessed and punished by the Portuguese Football Federation. I understand that the punishment should have no mitigating factors. I am not just any player; I am team captain, and that constitutes an aggravating factor.
I have already apologised, but I know that attitudes must have consequences. Anyone who is in football as I am knows that, regardless of each person’s status, the rules are the same for everyone.
On this subject, I have heard a great deal of talk about farewell matches, that I must have a dignified farewell and that the Federation wants to give me that opportunity.
I learned in life, often hungry and with nothing to eat, that no one gives anything to anyone.
I can promise all my fans, naturally and especially all Portuguese people, that we will have one or more farewell matches; there will be time for that.
But when I think of the national team, what I really think of is competing. That is what I thought on the day I was given the news of my father’s death.
I was at a camp with our national team and I decided to stay there until the end of the match the following day. I did for the country what I would never do for any club.
Therefore, if I am physically well, playing for my club, with goals I hope, after serving the suspension that may be applied to me, I will be available, as I have always been until today, to compete and win for our national team.
This is, believe me, the purest of truths.
Cristiano Ronaldo”.
