During the press conference, officials announced that Brooklyn Pace has been charged with murder in connection with the fentanyl poisoning death of 21-year-old Chase Boone.
Investigators said Boone was found in medical distress at a La Marque motel on Aug. 2, 2025, and later died. Following a months-long investigation, Pace was arrested on May 21, 2026, by the La Marque Police Department, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, and Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
