i donโt care what korean netizens say, iu & bws made international netizens love that country. they should be thanking them and give them awards for #PerfectCrown
This will probably be my last piece regarding this matter before I go back to posting normal Perfect Crown tweets.
No matter how much people said Wooseok should not have taken this drama, and no matter how much unnecessary hate was thrown at him online, I still believe choosing this project was meaningful for both him and his fans.
Perfect Crown gave us Lee Ahn and Wanseong. It gave him IU as a co-star, the understanding and support of Uaenas, his highest-rated K-drama, new casual viewers who discovered and praised his acting, soaring Instagram engagement, strong brand reputation and Fundaex rankings, and a drama that became one of Disney+โs most watched Korean series.
The production may have had its issues, and both leads sincerely apologized, but beyond all that, this project still gave him something valuable: experience, recognition, friendships, and another unforgettable character that showcased his growth as an actor.
And for that, I will always be grateful.
The words "This story is purely fictional" are literally written at the start of EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. The setting is just a continuation of the universe established in the prequel The Red Sleeve. Itโs that simple. So why on earth are the actors the ones bowing their heads?!
โLetโs be real: when a medical drama gets a medical fact wrongโwhere a mistake could actually mean life or deathโwho gets blamed? The writers and the medical consultants! No one attacks the actors. So why are actors suddenly expected to pull double duty as professional historians here?!
โAre actors now responsible for fact-checking scripts they aren't even in, or reviewing prop designs and set dressings? If thatโs the case, fire the entire production crew and let the actors run the whole network!
โThis is the ultimate corporate cop-out. The toxic anti-fans and spineless media are just targeting the leads because they have the biggest names. Meanwhile, the specialized production teams, the research consultants, and the network executives who pocketed all the cash from that historic 13.8% rating and Global Disney+/Hulu Top 5 success are quietly hiding behind the actors' handwritten letters. Absolute cowards.
โAn actorโs job is to act. IU and Byeon Woo-seok delivered flawless, legendary performances. They did their jobs perfectly. The people who actually failed to do their jobs need to stand up and take the heat instead of using artists as human shields.
