This is like saying the club is open for everyone and you are free to enter through any door, but we've already reserved your seat next to the toilet and that's where you'll sit.
and last thing im gonna say is, ARMYs are the only fandom who immediately recognized that new asian category for what it is: blatant racism, while others were celebrating a potential win for their faves. the fact that BTS, an asian group, thinks the same as us says a lot. 🙏🏽
imagine telling people “yeah I won my first grammy because BTS had the balls to reject discrimination in the music industry while I chose not to. Oh, and my trophy might as well have ‘bts charity' engraved on it.”
to anyone missing the point. this is them refusing to bown down to a institution that would rather create racially segregated categories than letting poc artists compete equally for the main awards
Music is more than some award that will collect dust on a shelf. It shouldn't be defined by it. Loads of legendary artists have never once been close to a grammy, yet they still made history and into hall of fames
them not submitting arirang for grammys and hope for their music to be appreciated on its own and not distinguished by region or language is so powerful btw bts u r such a once in a lifetime musician
for bts not to submit one of their biggest albums to the grammys this year is huge and i respect them for that. so much was poured into arirang and its message and i feel like it wouldn’t sit right with bts at all especially with the new category the grammys put out
Yes yes BTS I'm so proud of you ARIRANG is not an album that should ever go through that discrimination and racism , the most beautiful album it's so precious and must be enjoyed without boundaries
