The message of Rene’s mother to Tab Baldwin and Ateneo:

ang concerning. dati kang player, so i understand that you feel indebted to ateneo pero sa dami mong sinabi, hindi mo narealize na athletes' lives shouldn't be put at risk for the sake of training?
that doesn't make it right. may namatay na't lahat, inuna niyo pang dinefend 'yung dahilan nang pagkamatay. they did that in OPEN WATER during HABAGAT.
FORMER BLUE EAGLE SPEAKS UP 🗣️
“I do feel the need to post this after seeing a ton of false narratives blasted online. As someone who experienced that training camp during my time with ADMU that they also just went through as well, I understand the gravity of the training itself and what we willingly put ourselves through in hopes to boost conditioning ahead of the season and become closer as a team. There are a few things I’d like to address though based on other social media posts.
1. There is absolutely no way that this had anything to do with “initiation”. The team goes there for the sole purpose of conditioning, getting stronger, becoming a closer team due to the hardships faced during that specific beach training. Between working your ass off on that beach and a little bit of time to rest and eat there is no time to even think of doing any kind of initiation there. Each player is so tired from the work they put in the whole day that they wouldn’t even have enough energy to do something like that. Those players love each other and wouldn’t put each other in an initiation situation like that where there could be a grave outcome that way.
2. Don’t take those interview clips from some of my previous teammates out of context and try to spin your own story out of it for content. Yes, that was probably the most physically and mentally draining training that I’ve ever experienced but there was nothing done to us that would put us in immediate danger. So to the people spreading news that the players were forced to wear weights on their feet in the water, check your source first because I highly doubt the coaching staff would allow or even think to do that.
Allow the families, teammates, coaches, and ADMU community to grieve and let the investigation take its course based on facts before spreading fake narratives and adding fuel to the fire. The only people there are the team and coaches and staff. They are the ones who know the truth so let’s let things take their natural course before making horrid accusations.”

@ateneodemanilau what's heartbreaking about this is this was preventable. this wasn't even necessary. sa laki ng budget ng ateneo, talagang pinili niyong exercise is 'yung pwedeng ikamatay ng players niyo?
putanginang kabobohan 'yan. the parents should sue ateneo. what do you mean running exercise in deep water during habagat? anyone with COMMON SENSE would know not to do that.
PINATAY niyo sila.

Ytang is one of, if not the BEST, MBs when it comes to second-ball plays and setting. Like, grabe??? Not every middle blocker can pull that off consistently. She can do it all. 😮💨
