One of the reasons why so many people, even outside the fandom, support my favs is bc they have consistently represented kindness, acceptance, and respect towards others. Through both their work and their own words about equality, diversity, and creating SAFE SPACES, they have shown values that perfectly complement the heart of a story like SHULTM.
This is the story that all of us have been hoping and wishing for them to portray. But because of a casting choice, the conversation is no longer centered around the story, but around an actor with a history of homophobic behavior.
There are BL pages and people outside the fandom already discussing boycotting this project if Mean remains in the cast.
Domundi has always presented itself as a company that welcomes LGBTQIA+ actors, directors, staff, and management. So will they really continue to give space to someone who not only has this history with his former co-star, but also once said he would only return to doing BL if he had no money?
Even if it was said as a joke, it should NOT BE dismissed, because it touches on a problem that should be discussed seriously... People entering BL spaces only for profit while disrespecting the community that supports this industry.
Right now, many LGBTQIA+ people feel unseen and disrespected by this decision, and it has made them seriously question the agency's support for our community.
