Azzi Fudd is one of the most inspiring athletes of our generation. Her work ethic, leadership, and grace both on and off the court speak for themselves. Her resilience is unmatched and her love for the game is contagious. She’s already a role model, a champion, and a force.
Literally, it wouldn’t even matter if Azzi were in the starting lineup. I’m sure the coach would only let her take like 9fga at most, he really hates her. How did we even get here, huh? I never thought I’d hate Dallas more than I did last year.
A shooter needs rhythm, volume, and confidence. If you go games without involving her, miss her when she’s open, and limit her shots, you don’t get to suddenly expect her to be ready and in rhythm the moment you need her.
I’m not saying she played well. I’m saying Dallas helped create this. You can’t barely involve a shooter for games, give her 9 fga a night, constantly miss her on the floor, and then act shocked when she has no rhythm or confidence. Both things can be true: she had a bad game, and Dallas has handled her poorly.
Dallas Wings’ plan for Azzi:
Draft her first overall? Check.
Put her in a position to fail? Check.
Limit her shots and expect perfection? Check.
Destroy her confidence? Loading.
José didn’t build any rhythm for Azzi when she was playing well, limiting her to barely any shots, and now that the team needs her, he expects her to produce with no rhythm. I genuinely hate this man.
They don’t have any plan for Azzi. They’re just hoping she’ll be efficient with the 9fga they give her, which is completely impossible long term, and I feel so bad for her.
I dread the day Azzi has an off night, because she will, that’s just how shooters work. But she won’t get enough fga to shoot her way out of it, and honestly he’d probably let her end the game with 0 points that day.
