Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸
@thisisaheart@Dorchy222@briantylercohen@jamestalarico Yes,TX used surplus to fund energy reliability initiatives & created financing programs for grid improvements, & also mandatory weatherization. Also the biggest property tax relief packages in state history, (they are ⬇️)& the homestead exemption increased for homeowners.
@Dorchy222@thisisaheart@briantylercohen@jamestalarico I love how no one bothers to look things up anymore and put words in to your mouth that were never said. Glad you added more context! Funny when they think they have a gotcha moment, and clearly don’t!
@thisisaheart@Dorchy222@briantylercohen@jamestalarico Nowhere did I say they are proposing to get rid of O&G. I said “weakening” the industry! It is u who is making things up!Wind turbines have been disasters, solar is ripping off home owners etc.Not here to debate energy. I answered what policies I do not agree w that hurts Texans
@thisisaheart@Dorchy222@briantylercohen@jamestalarico Turbines froze as well. If a multi billion dollar property tax cut, increased school funding, and infrastructure investments don’t count as helping Texans, what exactly would? You can’t pretend it doesn’t benefit anyone. Only debate if you thought it was spent well
@thisisaheart@Dorchy222@briantylercohen@jamestalarico Holding TX back is weakening the industries that fund the state and support hundreds of thousands of jobs! Not political disagreement over energy policy. Texas has been doing great w budget surpluses over the last several years, which reflects how strong those industries are
@MMeow41801@jchristenson_@jdowningsardine If I voted for politicians based on character not their policies there wouldn’t be a single politician I could vote for. They’re all corrupt. Our govt was originally set up to elect every day people that represented citizens, serve a term or two & go back to regular life.
@MMeow41801@jchristenson_@jdowningsardine I’m an awful human bc your claims aren’t true? The truth is a plea deal handled by Paxton’s office in a child sexual abuse case could be argued the outcome was too lenient. Unfortunately plea deals are offered all the time. That doesn’t make him a protector.
@MMeow41801@jchristenson_@jdowningsardine When you can’t back your argument, the labels get louder. I questioned your original claim, you responded with a rant about unrelated allegations with no convictions. Bold claims to make with no substantiating evidence
@MMeow41801@jchristenson_@jdowningsardine Ahh typical deflection after letting you know you are spreading false info. Then you reply with another statement with no merit. Bravo!
@MMeow41801@jchristenson_@jdowningsardine Zero credible evidence of that claim. Not sure if true how it would matter? She isn’t running for the senate seat. She was an old staffer of his, now girlfriend . His policies are what I’m voting against.
@thisisaheart@Dorchy222@briantylercohen@jamestalarico Talarico is anti corporations, he’s for more taxes & wants to transition TX away from fossil fuels to wind and solar, two of the biggest threats to the state. Just so you know, Paxton has not been convicted of any crime. I think he did wrong… sure . I’m not voting on character
@briantylercohen@jamestalarico Don’t care who what or if he is dating. GOP has elected openly gay members to the House before, so not sure why you think anyone needed to know he has a girlfriend. I vote for policies and his aren’t policies I can get behind.
@SenAdamSchiff You spent years knowingly pushing collusion claims that were false! You implied evidence existed that never materialized and you blame Tulsi for politicizing intelligence? Thats rich coming from you. You jumped on a trending post for an audience
