@arsenal_era9 1. Much better polishers available for that $
2. He’s per 90 numbers across the board are slightly above average at best. Large xG overperformer this season as well.
If you like strikers that:
- find lots of (quality) shots
- create xG beyond the value of the pass received
- dribble/carry/make runs like wingers
You will LOVE Moise Kean.
If you like strikers that:
- finish their chances
- can play a forward pass
You will HATE Moise Kean.
Just essentially allowing them to apply continuous pressure and grow back into the game. If Arsenal were a little more aggressive and found a second, and then proceeded to play how they did, the game is over.
PSG are too good to play that way for 70 minutes, in my opinion. 15-20 minutes, maybe even a half, sure. I just think not shutting up shop that soon would’ve been more beneficial against a team of that caliber.
But I’m only someone on twitter and not a football coach. So maybe I’m wrong
That’s kind of what I’m getting at.
I think playing this style will work more often than not against the average and even above average sides.
But it’s extremely difficult to soak up pressure for that amount of time agains best of the best sides (PSG, Bayern, Barcelona).
I think the second leg against PSG last year was a great example. When you were aggressive, you were all over them.
Would just like to see a little more desire with a team of this quality. I think holding on to a lead for 15-20 minutes compared to 60-70 is vastly different. Just my two cents
@FIFABrit I expanded in a follow-up tweet here:
I’ve seen other Arsenal fans also agree as well. Maybe it’s the attacking talent, maybe tactics, maybe both.
Arsenal are obviously miles ahead of my team, but I think the biggest flaw of Arteta is playing ‘not to lose’ rather than ‘to win’ against the big sides.
Probably comes down to lack of attacking quality compared to the other great teams, but he has to learn how to kill off the games when they have the advantage.

Agreed! Premier League was the main goal and they got it done.
I just think if they want to take the next step like today, you have to at least try to kill the game off.
1 goal leads are enough against the smaller teams, but these elite European sides will punish you if you soak up pressure for 60-70 minutes.
