Finally from Godwin Bamsa:
Don't think primarily of money. Think of how you can add value to people/organizations.
Value is what someone else desperately needs.
When you think a lot about adding value, it'll be easy to find out your adjacent positive.
Thank you
Would you say your knowledge of nutrition is what has helped you?
Actually nutrition is just one of the many tools that I use on my journey to adding social value
What can you say about communication skills?
It's never too late to learn communication skills.
Often times, people want to communicate for themselves but it really is about passing information effectively to another person
You will communicate better with practice
Any certification courses that enhanced your opportunities?
Honestly, The way to learn is to do it. Usually people pay money to be exposed to smth but you still have to use the knowledge.
Learn the skill by volunteering not just sitting in a class
Where can one work in starting one's career as a nutritionist?
*Volunteer with your lecturers. Ask what research they are doing & be part of it.
*You can be a nutritionist anywhere.
If you aren't looking out first for money, it helps you with opportunities & that helps u grow
2) About constantly re-inventing oneself:
For me, I'll explain that as....
I have at least basic knowledge of nutrition + I'm getting bold with social impact but I'm beginning to get interested in sales and imparting boys
How did UNILEVER come into play:
I didn't start my career with Unilever. My career really started in my service year. I mapped out a few places, primary health care, feeding programme etc. I didn't go because of money but to add value and gather experience.
How can you find your adjacent positive? (Based on my opinion/advice)
*What have you earned money for before? Try what's called the "IKIGAI". Check Google.
*What problem bothers you or what do people around you complain about?
How then do you find your adjacent positive?
A quick Exercise:
What other area apart from Nutrition are you interested in?
E.g Nutrition +music
Other participant responses: Nutrition + story telling
Nutrition + customer care
Godwin Bamsa:
I am more of a generalist than a specialist. A book i love, "So good they can't ignore you".
Adjacent positive concept. Gain expertise in a primary area but gain experience with overlapping relevant areas
