53 lucky students received a LH Christmas gift this morning. Ms Santa 'Kaur' and her LH Ambassadors wheeled their festive book trolley around the school and surprised students in their lessons. The girls loved their presents and are ready to get reading over Christmas!
We're getting closer to the end of term. Grab a blanket, snuggle up and let your imagination flow as you release the magic of books.
Wishing the whole of our school community A very Happy Christmas and a Peacful and Safe New Year. #Christmas2025
Selected Yr 7 students were thrilled today when they took part in a live online murder mystery writing workshop with renown author Robin Stevens @redbreastedbird. Huge fans of her books, they got stuck in and had a super, sluething session! #SBonnellWorkHard
YALC 2025 was brilliant as ever. Authors met, new titles bought, books signed, proofs received and lots learned. Highlights were meeting @faridahlikestea (The Heirs) and @RavenaGuron (Your Murder Next). Both books out in 2026. I think that is what is called a successful day!
The LH hosted a Young Poet Laureate online masterclass with renowned poet/writer Nikita Gill & poet/ rapper Karl Nova. Yr 9s learnt where to get inspiration from, how to manage mind blankness to write great poetry along with other great tips! #SBonnellWorkHard

The LH is well prepared for BHM 2025. Visit the display and choose an excellent book to read - great articles too! Pick up a free BHM bookmark, have a go at a BHM word search or get creative and colour some African prints. #BHM2025#SBonnellBeProud
Well done Yara Kadir for winning the @simonjamesgreen Story Writing Competition! Yara won a SJG signed book bundle & letter from Simon congratulating her on what a fantastic story she had written. Yara said the prizes were very cool and was deeply touched Simon had read her work.
