@alenord These chat mats are outstanding tools. I’ve been wanting to create something like this for my students, but I am not great at desktop publishing. You have hit a home run with these! Amazing for student communication in the TL.
@alicekeeler Thanks for sharing this. I will use video as a reference for students. Do you have a video playlist for tips and tricks for #GoogleClassroom for students?
@quizlet Great job on adding the individual mode and thinking about what students and teachers during this time of remote learning. Have you guys considered allowing students to host a game with their classmates?
@SraSpanglish@Elisabeth13 I am using Google Classroom, so that was my plan. I will send back and ask them to resubmit. I think I would rather do that than not give speaking and writing options at all. I have already done that for a few students on other assignments during the closure.
@SraSpanglish@Elisabeth13 I created a choice board today and wanted to give options for reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I am concerned about Ss using the translator for their writing and speaking activities.
@JeffGimkit @Marishawkins @gimkit @JoshGimkit Thank you for that info. I created a choice board today for my next set of assignments, and I added “host 2 @gimkit games and submit screenshots” as one of the choices. I think students will really like that one. They love #gimkit 😀
@karacjacobs @spanishplans Google Slides is what I have been using. I find it to the be the easiest to format, specifically with a good template. I post the slides in Google Classroom.
When a T asks for help (or anyone for that matter), saying "Google it" is dismissive. They have reached out. Sure they could have Googled it, but they seek a human component. Or they are overwhelmed and just want a simple answer. Either help, or don't but don't say "Google it"
@MandiTolenEDU@SlidesManiaSM I have been using the bulletin board template also. I love this new one. Planning to switch as well, and plan to continue using next year so that student who are absent from class can keep up very easily.
@SraSpanglish I actually really like the options, but I could always make a copy and edit if you don’t mind. I wouldn’t share it. It would just be posted in Google Classroom for my students.
@SraSpanglish I thought so. So cute, and I love the options. Would you mind sharing it as a template? When I try to put a slide like this together, it isn’t this neatly formatted 😂.
@alicekeeler Thank you, Alice. I appreciate you answering my question. I am about to pull up my copy of your Google Classroom book and go back through some things.
(2/2) @alicekeeler However, they tell me that Classroom will not allow them to resubmit their answer after I returned it. Do you have any helpful hints for this? Thanks
